Transgender people are recognized as priority beneficiaries for social housing and rental subsidies under the Law on Social Housing.

Transgender people are recognized as priority beneficiaries for social housing and rental subsidies under the Law on Social Housing. Yet, stable and safe housing remains one of the most urgent needs of our community.

🔹 Nearly 1 in 3 respondents live in short-term rentals
🔹 17.6% have slept in streets or public spaces
🔹 41.2% have relied on temporary shelter
🔹 61.5% want more information on social housing programs

We call on Local Governments (Municipalities) to: @bashkiatirane

🏳️‍⚧️ Reduce bureaucratic barriers for transgender applicants
🏳️‍⚧️ Reserve a 1% quota of urban social housing units for transgender people.
🏳️‍⚧️ Publish simplified, accessible guides on housing rights
🏳️‍⚧️ Strengthen cooperation with LGBTI organizations to tackle homelessness among trans people
